April Spring show – the highlight of the year ⭐

The main floral exhibition in Pavilion A is built around a new theme every year – tens of thousands of cut flowers, bulbs and arrangements that florists work on around the clock for days. Add the blooming Smetana Gardens, the collection greenhouses, the rosarium and a big outdoor market with plants and seedlings. If you only go once, go in spring.

October Hortikomplex – autumn shopping

A showcase of fruit, vegetables and nursery stock from Czech and Moravian growers. The ideal place to buy fruit trees, seed garlic and onion sets, or regional apple varieties you won't find in any shop. Our garden calendar keeps track of autumn planting dates.

all year The grounds between shows

The Smetana Gardens complex – with its palm house, rosarium and botanical garden – stays open outside show dates too, making a pleasant stop on any visit to Olomouc during the season.

🚆 Getting there

The exhibition grounds are a 10-minute walk from the main railway station through the Smetana Gardens – the train beats hunting for a parking spot, which gets scarce around the grounds during shows. Direct trains run from Prague in about 2 h 15 min and from Brno in about 1 h 30 min.

🛒 Shopping with a trolley

Bring a wheeled bag or folding cart to Hortikomplex – trees and sacks of sets are hard to carry otherwise. The best selection is on the first morning; the best prices come on the last afternoon, when vendors mark things down.

📅 Combine it with the city

Olomouc has the second-largest heritage reserve in the Czech Republic – the Holy Trinity Column (UNESCO) is a 15-minute walk from the exhibition grounds. Show + old town = an easy, relaxed day trip.
